Slate: Proving it’s funny and freaking me out all at the same time
Whoa. They’ve got an elaborate parody of the Huffington Post up at Slate, and it’s very good (it’s called “The HuffingandPuffington Post” and I missed it initially). Edgy bastards promise the mackdaddy of celebrity guests, inviting you to click through to find out that it’s…Charles Manson! Funny stuff, Michael Wolff. But if you’re going to go to the trouble of creating a perfect replica of the site, dot your i’s, man – no author bio? An opportunity missed. Also, just a tiny point, but if the joke is to click through in order to discover the identity of the mystery blogger, having a photo credit that reads “Photograph of Charles Manson on the Slate home page copyright Bettmann/Corbis” kinda gives it away.
God is in the details, people. Just ask Charlie.
