Slate Site Shows Huff Po Vet ‘The Big Money’

27255.jpgThe Big Money, Slate’s spin-off business site helmed by James Ledbetter, is stocking up on new media talent. Elinor Shields, most recently managing editor of Huffington Post, has been appointed deputy editor. Before HuffPo, she had been a senior writer at BBC.com. Chadwick Matlin, who had been writing the mothership’s political blog, Trailhead, will join as a staff writer.

The site, based in New York, will launch later this summer. According to Slate’s PR people, at least one hire will come within the next week so we’ll stay on the story.
