Stephen Colbert Runs For President (And Sells Book)

Just say No to Stephen Colbert. FishbowlNY’s frenemy Stephen Colbert is running for President (And also just happens to be selling a book). Colbert has already defaced the august New York Times Op-Ed page with his artful shlockery. The title of Sunday’s Op-Ed was even a play on the name of his book.

Charmed, I’m sure.

And now, according to Rachel Sklar, Colbert will be on Tim Russert’s Meet the Press, arguably the most important American political talking head show. We here at FishbowlNY want to task the media in no uncertain terms to ”Just Say No to Colbert.”

Colbert does a very funny take on a right-wing blowhard, and we are sure his book is brimming with all sorts of comedic excellence and truthiness. But Colbert, we cannot fail to note, has no chance of becoming the next President of the United States. Zero percentage! The New York Times and Russert would be better served covering the real election of who will lead this country at a crossroads and let Colbert sell his own books on his own time.

Our frenemy Colbert did not respond to various FishbowlNY emails and phone calls made to his publicists on this subject. Scared?
