Stereogum Disses VH1.com’s Greatest Songs Of The 90s

Stereogum — and, editorial disclaimer: this writer — has some strong words for VH1.com’s Greatest Songs of the 90′s. Gerardo’s Rico Y Suave as well as Sugar Ray’s execrable Fly are included (Averted Gaze). VH1′s Luis DeFrank, a truly good sport, indulged our curiosity and returned FishbowlNY’s email on the controversy: ”As with most lists that rank music, our countdowns also generate some debate. We encourage all types of discussions on the rankings for our latest user-determined countdown ’100 Greatest Songs of the 90s’ airing Monday-Friday Dec 17-21 at 10 p.m. each night.”
