Strike Watch: WGA Pickets Head South

The WGA East pickets, which are no stranger to chilly weather, head down to Atlanta tomorrow, where the temperatures will be in the moderate 50s. Television writers and reporters are picketing the Turner, Inc. midtown campus. From the WGA East web site:

”Time Warner (parent company of Turner, Inc.), along with Disney, CBS Corporation, General Electric (NBC/Universal), News Corporation (Fox) and Viacom (Paramount and CW Network), refuse to guarantee union coverage for original writing for the Internet. They refuse to pay union wages or provide pension and healthcare to WGA writers who work on game shows, documentary (or reality) shows, variety shows, and animated films.”
