Vogue‘s Alexandra Kotur Is the New Creative Director at Town & Country

Town & Country editor-in-chief Jay Fielden has hired Vogue‘s Alexandra Kotur as the new creative director, WWD reports. Kotur was at Vogue for 15 years, most recently as style director, and worked with Fielden when he himself was a contributing editor at Vogue.

Fielden was previously working with David Lipman at Town & Country, who was hired by Fielden’s predecessor Stephen Drucker. While Fielden may continue to work with Lipman on “bigger ideas,” Kotur will be there on a “daily basis.”

It seems like Fielden has big plans for Town & Country; he hopes to make his mark on the magazine with the May issue, and told WWD that it “will have a different feel.”

Town & Country Hires LIPMAN Design Agency

Hearst’s Town & Country today announced that it has hired advertising and branding agency LIPMAN to oversee the magazine’s design direction.  The agency’s founder, David Lipman, will begin his ongoing collaboration with the title starting with the magazine’s March 2011 issue.

Lipman and his agency have previously worked with such recognizable brands and individuals as David Yurman, Lord & Taylor, Jennifer Aniston, Hudson Jeans, Diane von Furstenberg, Burberry, Tumi, Justin Timberlake and Michelle Wie.

Lipman says he hopes to “unlock” the magazine’s design potential and eventually render it “the medium that we all covet.”
