Melissa Brecher Named CMO of Fairchild Fashion Media

Melissa Brecher has been promoted from vice president of marketing and communications of Fairchild Fashion Media (FFM) to chief marketing officer.

Brecher has been with Condé Nast for 12 years. During that time she has been associate publisher of marketing for Lucky magazine and prior to that, director of merchandising and promotion services.

In her new role Brecher will continue to report to Will Schenck, executive vice president, chief revenue officer for FFM.

Two Promotions at Fairchild Fashion Media

Fairchild Fashion Media has announced two promotions. Brett Mitchell has been named advertising manager for M magazine, and Ellie Ghadimi has been named advertising director, beauty, for WWD and Beauty Inc.

Mitchell has been with FFM since 2002. He has spent most of that time building up the men’s business at WWD.

Ghadimi joined FFM four years ago and most recently worked as WWD’s finance and luxury good director.

Fairchild Fashion Media Makes Publisher Changes

There have been two changes at Fairchild Fashion Media. Pamela Daniels has joined the company as the new publisher of Beauty, Inc. Daniels comes to Fairchild from Rodale, where she served as business development director since February.  She will report to Paul Jowdy, vice president, publisher of WWD.

Additionally, Matt Rice has been promoted to associate publisher of Style.com, NowManifest and Style.com/Print. Rice was most recently advertising director for Fairchild.

M Magazine is Relaunching

Fairchild Fashion Media is relaunching M, the men’s title that folded in early 90s. The new version will be overseen by Fairchild’s Editorial Director, Peter Kaplan. Marc Berger has also been named Vice President, Publisher of M. The initial circulation will be 75,000 and the first issue will hit newsstands September 24.

M will target rich dudes who like fashion. Or maybe we should let Kaplan explain? According to him, M will “speak to an elite and exclusive group of affluent consumers and top industry players.”

Hmm… We’re pretty sure he’s talking about the same people we are.

Fairchild Fashion Media Purchases Blog Network

Fairchild Fashion Media (FFM) has acquired Fashion Networks International (FNI), a media enterprise. FNI’s biggest brand is NowManifest.com, a site that curates posts from high profile fashion bloggers such as Anna Dello Russo, Bryan Grey Yambao, Rumi Neely and Elin Kling. NowManifest gets an average of 1.2 million unique visitors per month.

As part of the deal, NowManifest’s Co-founder, Christian Remröd, will join FFM as Managing Director, NowManifest and Fairchild Fashion Media Business Development.

“We are thrilled to welcome Christian and Fashion Networks International to Fairchild Fashion Media,” said FFM’s President and CEO Gina Sanders. “This acquisition furthers our mission to deliver an insider perspective to the global fashion community, while offering exciting new functionality and meaningful scale.”
