Will Ferrell’s Eight-Year-Old Son Set for Solo Piano Performance

Tomorrow night’s event is invitation-only, but chances are you’ll be seeing some really cool clips of it on Tuesday evening local newscasts.

Piano teacher Margie Balter (pictured), well-known for helping anchor the authenticity of film performances such as Holly Hunter in The Piano, is hosting a special charity event at the Gibson Baldwin Showroom in Beverly Hills. A number of her current students will be playing pieces from her latest album “Music from my Heart,” with part of the proceeds from the sale of CDs and playbooks going to the Playing For Change Foundation and the first International Playing For Change Day concert in September.

One of Balter’s most promising students is Magnus, the eight-year-old son of Will and Viveca Ferrell. A rep for the event sent FishbowlLA the composition that he will be playing (“Zanzi”), and it definitely speaks volumes to the stage this young Hollywood progeny is at.

Who Will Play the LA Weekliers in the Grim Sleeper Film?

JillandHolly.jpg

For the gritty yet girlie editor we’re thinking Holly Hunter as Jill Stewart.

For the dogged Canadian reporter, Christine Pelisek we’re thinking Kate Hudson for looks. Maybe Kate Winslet because she’s…uhm…also foreign.

Who else? Leave the names in the comments.

ABC Meta-Milks Merry Miller’s ‘Internet Sensation’

ABC News is milking their own trainwreck interviewer Merry Miller, whose botched — and roundly ridiculed — chat with Holly Hunter has been dubbed “The Interview Seen Around the World” by the network. Based on the online reaction (554,872 YouTube views, for starters) to Joel Siegel‘s former booker, ABC is soliciting potential hosts online:

The Miller interview has inspired many people to think that they can do a better job hosting one of our shows. If you’d like to give it a shot, log on to www.abcnewsnow.com (yes — that is the correct site!) and submit your audition tape for the chance to be selected as a guest host on “What’s the Buzz.”
