Was CBS Reporter Serene Branson Secretly Microwaved?

Good Morning America reporter John Berman had a lot of fun today with crazy speculation being floated around the Internet by conspiracy theorists. Namely, that local CBS 2 reporter Serene Branson‘s infamous live Grammy report flub was the result of a top secret U.S. government microwave brain ray experiment.

These conspiracy theorists think the same subterfuge may have encompassed the “migraine” and “chronic fatigue” problems of others as well. Or, as Berman put it: “It does beg the question, why would the government want to attack a Grammy reporter, a Canadian [Mark McAllister], and Judge Judy? But hey, no one said government conspiracies have to make sense; plus, it might help explain my live flub last week.”

Former NYT Restaurant Critic Reviews Choco Taco On Nightline

bruni nightline.jpgThree months after leaving his post as restaurant critic at The New York Times, Frank Bruni is making the rounds to promote his upcoming memoir “Born Round: the Secret History of a Full-Time Eater.” Tomorrow, he’ll appear on ABC’s Nightline talking about his long history with food, dieting and overeating and the best thing to order from Mr. Softee.

In the clip below, Bruni chastises ABC News correspondent John Berman for ordering a “namby pamby”, non-rhyming soft serve swirl cone from an ice cream truck, and then goes on to unceremoniously award a choco taco zero stars. “This is like day-old gum,” Bruni said.

We’d like the point out that Bruni is looking much more svelte now than he did in the few photos that circulated of him while he was the Times‘ restaurant critic. He’s looking good!
