Kevin Bacon’s Five Degrees of LA Westside Separation

The good folks at KFI’s Tim Conway Jr. have an expression they like to use whenever a big compliment is bandied about on-air. The rallying cry is pronounced “Huuuuge shout out” and hash-tagged #hugeshoutout.

In the latest installment of Los Angeles magazine’s celebrity “LA Story” feature to go online, actor Kevin Bacon adds his #hso honors to the well-praised burgh of Los Feliz. Snooki and the The Situation take MTV to Number One in New York

Led by the hugely-successful “Jersey Shore,” MTV grabbed the number one spot in the weekly ratings for its August 12 episode.

MTV pulled in an estimated 819,000 viewers with a 4.1 rating, according to the Nielsen Company.

Meantime, as the summer winds down, the pennant races heat up.

The Yankees shot to number two for the week (656,000/3.3), in a game broadcast by WWOR/Channel 9 on August 10.

Five other Yankee telecasts cracked the Top 30, all of which were on the YES Network.

The Mets, despite struggling in the standings, helped lift ESPN to a Top 15 showing. It was “Sunday Night Baseball” loss to the Phillies.

Taking hold of the third position was Fox reality show “Hell’s Kitchen” starring Chef Gordon Ramsay (620,000/3.1).

Also on Fox, the “So You Think You Can Dance” two-hour finale spun its way to number four (612,000/3.0) on WNYW/Fox 5.

With that lead-in, “Fox 5 News at 10,” with anchors Ernie Anastos and Dari Alexander catapulted to 17th place (454,000/2.3).

Bacon/Sedgwick The Latest Madoff Victims

baconsedg.jpgKevin Bacon and wife Kyra Sedgwick (who is now with “The Closer” definitely the bread-winner in that household) were taken by Bernie Madoff and his $50 billion Wall Street swindle, New York mag reports.

They join an illustrious list of such Hollywood royalty as Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg.

But FBLA can’t figure out how much BacWick might have lost. Maybe “The Closer” is taking off. We know it’s not $50 billion. “The Closer” ratings aren’t that good.
