The Heart is A Lonely Blogger: Emily Gould Shopping a Memoir?

emily-gould-headshot.jpgSo it looks like we might have been a little quick in our presumption that the book Emily Gould is currently shopping around is a memoir. Since yesterday we’ve spoken to another publishing insider who’s seen the material and assures us that it is neither a memoir nor a novel. Which leaves? Well, actually, a vast array of options.

Over at Galley Cat Ron Hogan is speculating (presumably based on some conversations he had with Gould who used to write for Galley Cat) that “she might spend as much time grappling with philosophical questions as she will recounting biographical circumstance” possibly engaging in a “sustained introspection, blending experience and contemplation into a narrative throughline.” Sounds good to us. Either that or a comic book cookbook.
