The New York Times Co. CEO Stays Mum On Boston Globe Sale
At at a Boston Chamber of Commerce event CEO Janet Robinson stood her ground when questioned about The New York Times Co.’s possible sale of The Boston Globe. Robinson was tight-lipped and offered the following response.
We don’t comment on rumor and speculation. We don’t comment on acquisitions or divestitures.
Robinson was asked about the status of The Globe after sales talks were heightened due to Massachusetts entrepreneur Aaron Kushner’s interest in acquiring the paper from The Times Co. Robinson went on to praise The Boston Globe as “a wonderful part of our portfolio” and expressed pride in the paper’s “solid financial footing.”
