  • Michael Chabon Gets A Coen Brothers Makeover: Filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen have signed on to direct the film version of The Yiddish Policemen’s Union. The Pulitzer-winning novel, which takes place in a world where Jewish refugees settled in Alaska after the 1948 collapse of Israel, will make a hell of a film. Film noir undertones, kooky mysticism, social commentary… yeah, the sucker’s got it all. More importantly, we can’t think of anyone who is better suited for the project than the Coens.
