Hipster pop culture mag Giant (see previous) has a new EIC. A new, kinda sorta familiar EIC.

Emil Wilbekin, the former editor-in-chief of Vibe, has been tapped to serve as the mag's official new honcho. Previous EIC Smokey D. Fontaine has been promoted to Chief Content Officer of Radio One, Giant's parent company.

Wilbekin's previous post was as VP of brand development at Marc Ecko Enterprises.

So how will corporate culture at self-consciously macho Giant react to the hiring of Wilbekin, who's openly gay? We'll see.
