Ladies' Home Journal Names Entertainment Director
Pocharski most recently worked for Reader's Digest, booking their entertainment coverage. She also worked as a senior editor at People, where she produced the magazine's first Oscar Daily feature, and served as executive editor for Teen People, George and Maximum Golf, which she helped launch in 1999. Pocharski will be replacing Marisa Fox, who recently left the magazine. But we're wondering, will this mean more high profile celebrity interviews in LHJ? Full release after the jump SUSAN POCHARSKI NAMED ENTERTAINMENT DIRECTOR OF LADIES’ HOME JOURNAL MAGAZINE NEW YORK, NY (May 28, 2009) – Ladies' Home Journal Editor-in-Chief Sally Lee announced today that Susan Pocharski is returning to the magazine as Entertainment Director. She replaces Marisa Fox, who left the magazine. Most recently, Pocharski booked all entertainment coverage for Reader's Digest. A 20-year industry veteran, Pocharski first joined Ladies' Home Journal from Life, where she was responsible for securing celebrity interviews and assigning cover stories. Previously, Pocharski served as Senior Editor at People, producing its first-ever Oscar Daily, published annually for five consecutive days leading up to the Academy Awards. From 2002 – 2003, she served as Executive Editor at Teen People, where she edited entertainment, fashion and beauty content and managed cover stories, while directing an editorial staff of 20. Pocharski has also worked as the Executive Editor of George, where she directed the magazine's entertainment content and edited political packages. In 1999, Pocharski launched Maximum Golf as Executive Editor. In addition, from 1991 – 1999, Pocharski landed exclusive cover stories for Us, and she also was a consultant on the prototype for Us Weekly. Her cover stories have been featured on Entertainment Tonight and Extra, among other newsmagazine shows. Pocharski will be based in Meredith’s New York offices at 375 Lexington Ave. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English from the University of New Hampshire. She lives in Connecticut.
