Some editorial changes at venerable online mag Salon have been announced. Washington correspondent Michael Scherer (pictured) is out; he's been poached by Time to cover the '08 election. His replacement will be Mike Madden, formerly of Gannett.

Additional hires have been made by Salon over on the feature story side too; ex-Nerve.com editor Sarah Hepola is the mag's new Life editor and Pratt Institute journo professor James Hannaham has been hired as a culture critic.
