Online Staff Layoffs at The Wall Street Journal
Is no one immune? Business Week's Jon Fine is reporting that the Wall St. Journal has laid off at least two online staffers.
News Corp's Wall Street Journal today let go of at least two online staffers, insiders report. They are Cybele Weisser, the personal finance editor, and Laura Lorber, its small business editor.Fine goes on to point out that while this may be an isolated incident that July's round of layoff at the Journal were preceded by smaller cuts.A spokeswoman declined to comment, as did other Journal executives that would respond to email inquiries. Attempts to reach the affected staffers were not immediately successful.
