Over in Israel, satellite television network YES wanted to promote their new HDTV service. So they hired IL ad firm McCann Digital to make the commercial shown above.
In the commercial, nearly a hundred actors dressed as Hasidic Jews do a full-on Busby Berkeley-style dance routine to a cover of the Village People’s “YMCA.” Even if, like us, you don’t understand a damn word of Hebrew… This is brilliant in all sorts of damn ways. If Madison Avenue could learn a few lessons from this one, we’re imaging some NY ad agency could make a killer version with dancing Amish folks replacing the Hasids.
Seriously, take the time to wait for the video to load. It’s good — consider it a Hanukkah gift from FBNY to our Jewish friends.
