Time Names Barack Obama ‘Person of the Year’
Color us shocked. Time has tapped President-elect Barack Obama as their ‘Person of the Year.’ You may recall back at the luncheon last month held to discuss the matter there was some talk that the U.S. economy or the American consumer should get the nod, but really, who are we kidding. Says Time:
In one of the craziest elections in American history, he overcame a lack of experience, a funny name, two candidates who are political institutions and the racial divide to become the 44th President of the United States…He has come to dominate the public sphere so completely that it beggars belief to recall that half the people in America had never heard of him two years ago.
Yep, that sounds about right. In case you’re wondering Henry Paulson was the runner-up.
