Town Hall Trying To Sell Dane Cook’s Tourgasm Without Dane Cook

With comedian Dane Cook busy selling out Madison Square Garden, what are his buddies, er, hangers-on from Tourgasm — probably the worst show HBO has ever aired — to do? Perform at Town Hall and hope no one notices Dane isn’t on the bill?

The legendary venue and LiveNation, one of the tour’s promoters, have been trying to sell “Dane Cook’s Tourgasm” — featuring Gary Gulman, Jay Davis and Robert Kelly — on November 25 without drawing too much attention to the fact that Cook will not be performing. (While the tour’s Web site states clearly that Cook will be M.I.A., ads and marketing published in the Village Voice are strategically vague.)

We had heard a few complaints from “Dane Train” fans who felt they were misled (bummer!) and it now appears that Town Hall and the concert promoters have finally ceded:
