Katie's Magical, Mysterious Tour Kicks Off Short, Strange, Mostly-Press-Closed Trip

The heavily-choreographed leadup to Katie Couric's debut on the CBS Evening News officially began this morning at a "town meeting" in Tampa.

This morning, she was "the keynote speaker at a sold out fundraising breakfast to benefit the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society," WTSP says. Then it was time for a "town meeting," where she asked prescreened viewers what they want in news programs. The events are closed to the press.
