Uhh… Ahmadinejad Didn’t Lunch With The Times. Sorry Newt.
Did the editorial board of the New York Times take Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to lunch at the Four Seasons? If we’re to believe Newt Gingrich (who, coincidentally, is about to launch his presidential campaign) on today’s Fox & Friends, they did. As can be expected, the more right wing-leaning portions of the blogosphere were running riot at the idea of the nutjob Iranian prez lunching with the NYT.
Only it was completely, utterly false.
It turns out Laura Ingraham made a joke about Ahmadinejad lunching with the Times during an interview with Gingrich… and Newt totally fell for it. Whoops.
