UPDATE: Spin‘s Pemberton Says He’s ‘Still Here’; Sources Say ‘Still Done’
Yesterday, citing sources, we reported that Spin editor Andy Pemberton was, indeed, on his way out after a mere three months at the magazine. Gawker also reported Pemberton’s exodus was imminent.
Yesterday after our post, a spokeperson for Spin wrote in an e-mail to FishbowlNY that “Andy is still employed with Spin magazine,” though would not elaborate as to how long that would be the case. In an article in today’s Women’s Wear Daily, Pemberton, pressed further, said “all I can say is as of now I’m still at Spin.”
Two additional sources with knowledge of the magazine’s intentions, however, told us today that Pemberton’s fate at Spin is all-but-sealed.
