USA Today iPad App to Remain Free for Now

In today’s conference call about Gannett‘s second-quarter earnings, CEO Craig Dubow said the company intends to continue giving away the USA Today iPad app for free in the third quarter. When the app made its debut, USA Today had originally planned to start charging for it in July, but revised that strategy in light of an avid reader reaction that made it the No. 1 most-downloaded news app.
