USA Today is getting serious about strengthening their digital strategy and outreach. Today the national newspaper named Michelle Kessler social media editor and tapped Glenna DeRoy as their new social media analyst. Kessler, a former tech reporter and editor, will handle the paper’s social media projects and manage social.usatoday.com as well as USA Today’s Twitter account. DeRoy previously worked as an online editor and now will measure the success of USA Today’s current social media programs and look for any areas to improve.
The newspaper will eventually name a social media manager to oversee the entire operation and boost user engagement.
