Video: Ex-Rocketboom Host Amanda Congdon Says LonelyGirl15 ‘A Brilliant Idea, But They Weren’t Transparent’

Last night at the Good magazine launch party FishbowlNY spoke with ex-Rocketboom vlogger Amanda Congdon about her Amanda Across America vlog tour, the LonelyGirl15 YouTube hoax and what it’s like to be a reporter who’s easy-on-the-pixels.

Said Congdon of LonelyGirl: “It was a brilliant idea, but the problem with the idea was that they weren’t transparent and that bothers me. … They didn’t fool me, but they fooled a lot of people and a lot of people got hurt.”
