polo.jpgVolkswagen is getting loads of free publicity from a spoof ad for their VW Polo that entails a man in kaffiyeh driving a Polo then parking next to a restaurant and blowing himself up. The car remains in one piece and the next shot is the tagline: “Polo. Small but Tough.” (Subviral marketing strikes again?) VW insists that it’s very, very offended by the ad, and is now saying that if or when it tracks down the perpetrators, it will demand—demand!—an apology. (It may even pound its fist on the table for added emphasis.) Watch out, perpetrators.
