What Does Jeff Zucker Really Feel About The New York Post Business Section?

NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker is clearly in anti-NewsCorp mode (And we don’t begrudge him for that). He apparently likes The New York Post’s influential business section — but only when it is useful. At Monday’s chat with Ken Auletta at the packed Bryant Park Grill, Zucker was asked whether Fox Business Network was similar to The Post’s business section which former G.E. Chairman Jack Welch has publicly said he liked. Zucker dodged the question with the response: ”I work for Jeffrey Immelt, not Jack Welch.”

But is the hypercompetitive Zucker really that dismissive of the NY Post’s loosely sourced business pages when he feeds them stories like this one? An industry insider told FishbowlNY: ”Obviously, Jeff thinks highly of the NY Post business section considering that’s his venue of choice for leaking disparaging stories about his NBC colleagues.”

NBC didn’t return FishbowlNY’s emails and call for comment by post time.
