What Were Conan’s Bookers Thinking?
According to Artie Lang, the affable sidekick on The Howard Stern Show, Conan O’Brien’s bookers asked him to cross the pickets and do the show tonight. Ultimately they found someone else, but what were they thinking?
Lange is, to be sure, a consistently funny and thoroughly unintimidating regular guy guest tailor-made for late night chat. He is also — and how could the bookers not have known this — a vocal supporter of the WGA strike. Lange revealed on the Stern show this morning that he was about to turn them down before they bailed on him.
