Whither Jolie? Beauty, it seems, is fleeting

JolieNYC.jpgIt’s hot, it’s humid, our hair is frizzing and our faces are unbecomingly shiny. In desperation and the desire for a little sassy inside scoop, we went to our new favorite beauty blogger, Jolie in NYC. We clicked over, already feeling prettier.

But nothing happened. The URL misdirected. The site was not found.

We tried again. Nothing.

That post about the beauty mag hierarchy? Gone. The accounts of swag, received and duly accessorized? Gone. Her tales of blowouts, highlights, and non-comedogenic moisturizers? Gone gone gone.

Jolie, it seems, is gone. Even her Nick & Jessica break-up blog is no more (and they’re so close! So very, very close!). And so we must ask, why? Because it was obvious that the girl loved doing it – fresh content every day, pithy anecdotes, genuinely helpful advice (who knew Jergens was the go-to brand for self-tanners?).

Now, we’d hate to think that any beauty top editors would go all reverse Time, Inc. on her Pilates-toned ass and and force her to stop. Because that would be lame in the extreme. After all, it’s not like she’s someone’s nanny or an aggrieved publishing wonk. It’s not even like she was blurting out a particularly well-kept secret. What? Scandal! You mean beauty editors get free products? Well, I never!

To the random editor who put the kibosh on Jolie’s blog, I say yes, you do look fat in those pants. To Jolie, wherever you are: best of luck, and stay gorgeous. This one’s for you.
