WNBC/Channel 4 May Hire Boston Anchor Shiba Russell
If reports are true, a new anchor could be joining WNBC.
The Daily News says Shiba Russell, a weekend co-anchor at ABC-owned WCVB in Boston, has told the station that she is leaving. She is reportedly is talks with WNBC to become a weekend anchor. Her contract at WCVB expires in January.
Russell was born in Boston and grew up in New Jersey. She does have TV experience in New York. Russell previously worked for Cablevision’s News 12 Long Island and News 12 The Bronx. She is a graduate of the College of New Rochelle.
Russell and a WNBC spokeswoman had no comment to FishbowlNY.
