WNYW Anchor Rosanna Scotto Gets Emotional Celebrating 25th Wedding Anniversary on Good Day New York

Rosanna Scotto, beloved co-anchor of WNYW/Channel 5′s Good Day New York, is celebrating her 25th Wedding Anniversary today.

Co-anchor Greg Kelly opened the show’s usually lighter third-hour by recognizing Scotto’s big day. But, it didn’t end there.

In a touch of the classic TV show This is Your Life, Scotto was surprised by her husband Louis Ruggiero waiting on the phone.

“I love you to death, Ro,” Ruggiero said.

As Scotto was getting emotional, her husband got a laugh saying, “I want to dispel the rumor that the secret to a long marriage is that you worked at night for 20 years.”

Scotto began to cry as Ruggiero continued.

“We have a wonderful family, and I’m so grateful that you are my wife.”

The tears kept flowing as Ruggiero passed the phone to their only daughter, Jenna.

“I’m lucky to have you for 22 years, they’re lucky to have you 25.”

As Scotto cried uncontrollably, her TV husband, Kelly promptly quipped, “Pull yourself together right now!”

In March, Scotto marked her silver anniversary at WNYW.
