WNYW Promotes Jerry Andrews to News Managing Editor
WNYW/Channel 5 announced of a pair of promotions last week.
Jerry Andrews got upgraded to news managing editor. He spent the last three years as executive producer of the station’s 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts–anchored by Ernie Anastos and Dari Alexander, and Harry Martin, respectively.
Emad Ashgar had been the managing editor. He was recently promoted to assistant news director.
Meantime, in the morning, WNYW named Jason Hartelius executive producer of Good Day New York. He takes over for Terry Meyers. She came to Channel 5 in 2010.
Since joining WNYW in October 2009, Hartelius was a line producer and segment producer for the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Hartelius arrived in New York in 2004, working for WNBC and WCBS.
