Wonkette Is Looking for Contributors

Wonkette_logo05272010.jpgEditor Jim Newell is, as we know, departing Wonkette. So now the online purveyor of political sarcasm is looking for contributors. Some of the slots may even be filled by people who live in places other than DC — places like New York, maybe!

WonkEditor Ken Layne writes that the site’s “Comics Curmudgeon” Josh Fruhlinger will be handling morning editorial duties, and Newell’s spot is being eliminated.

The site is, however, looking for a “WASHINGTON DC daytime political-comedy blogger,” (sorry New Yorkers, applicants must already live inside the beltway). Writes Layne:

This is NOT a full-time thing. You are never going to get rich or even “make a modest living” from blogging, sorry. What do you think this is, 2007?

Layne is also looking for regular contributors, and those people can be from basically anywhere. So interested parties should brush up on overuse of commas, referring to themselves as “your editor” (that one is really fun), and space-alien imagery — then send column pitches to Layne’s email address.
