World Series Carries WNYW to Top of Ratings

As quickly as you can say Albert Pujols that never-say-die World Series went the distance generating grand numbers. In the latest ratings from Nielsen, Game 7 of the Fall Classic took the top prize for the week with an estimated 1.5 million WNYW/Channel 5 viewers and a 7.6 rating.

The stunning, extra-inning Game 6 settled for third-best (1.1 million/5.9).  Game 5 between the Rangers and Cardinals took hold of 11th place (758,000/3.9).

Back to the regularly scheduled programming, WABC/Channel 7 landed at number two, thanks to Dancing With The Stars (1.2 million/6.3). The Dancing result show had a fifth-place finish (905,000/4.6).

WCBS had its highest entry at number four, as the Ashton Kutcher-led Two and a Half Men continues to surge (944,000/4.8).

From Two and a Half Men to two and a half hours.  An extended X Factor episode had its best showing on WNYW, tying for fifth   (906,000/4.6).
