You’re Fired!: The Big Money to Publish Layoff Emails

YoureFiredlogo1.jpgThe amount of layoffs and foldings that have occurred in the last week have left our heads spinning a bit. Here’s the thing, we all knew that print was a dying animal, but it’s probably safe to say nobody knew it was going to die so fast! Anyway, the folks at Slate‘s The Big Money are aiming to give you a ringside seat of sorts to the print world’s great demise. They have just launched a new feature called You’re Fired, which will collect (presumably with your help) layoff emails from around the country.

There’s no better way to feel an employee’s pain than to read the same e-mail that caused it in the first place. And there’s no better way to feel a manager’s awkwardness than to read the way she announces the pink slips.

Fingers crossed they are never in the position to post their own, or we to send them one! Currently they have up the recent email that accompanied news of Time Inc.’s layoffs earlier this week.
