YouTube and PBS to Citizen Police the Election

grovebeet.pngBeet.tv is reporting that YouTube and PBS are teaming up to create something called ‘Video the Vote,’ which aims to “solicit, organize, stream and broadcast user-generated video from polling places around the nation on election day.” Basically they are encouraging people to take video cameras to polling places to they can record, and subsequently upload, and shady goings on.

Steve Grove, head of news and politics at YouTube, says they hope to “increase the transparency” of the voting process, including including bringing to light any problems that may arise. After the jump, video of Grove from yesterday’s Time Politics Summit.
