“Beginning Sept. 1, CBS will herald” Katie Couric‘s arrival by plastering her face “in the New York subway station below her old NBC stomping ground, Rockefeller Center,” Broadcasting & Cable reports. George Schweitzer, president of the CBS Marketing Group, says “it will remind the employees when they go home.”![]()
But NBC is readying an ad campaign of its own. “Beginning around Sept. 1, an image of” Brian Williams, “four stories tall, will loom over the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan from a banner at West 57th Street and 10th Avenue,” the NYT reports. “Alongside will be another featuring Matt Lauer and Ms. Couric’s replacement as his partner on the ‘Today’ show, Meredith Vieira.”
