“With 14 million viewers watching the network morning programs last week, GMA closed the gap with NBC to only 40,000 total viewers,” ABC said in a press release this afternoon. Today had 5.643 million viewers, while “GMA remained in second place” with 5.598 million, NBC’s press release stated. The Early Show had 2.780 million viewers. This time last year, 740,000 viewers separated GMA and Today. That’s a 95% “slashing of the gap,” ABC notes.
