ABC, Huster, Sen. Vitter & The DC Madam

Sen. David Vitter‘s admission about the D.C. Madam — provoked by Hustler yesterday — led the magazine to brag that “within hours of obtaining the phone records, Flynt’s team found what ABC News has so far been unable to ferret out.”

But that’s not really fair to say. Sure, Brian Ross‘ 20/20 report was watered down, absent many blockbuster revelation. But that’s because ABC “was not working with a full set of records from Palfrey’s business,” Raw Story reports.

According to an ABC spokesperson, “we had access to documents from 2002 to 2006.” Thus: “The Senator’s number must have been on one of those years we didn’t have…”
