Alec Baldwin’s Show Will Not Return to MSNBC

AlecBaldwinUpLateAlec Baldwin‘s Friday night show “Up Late” has been pulled from MSNBC.

The network and Baldwin’s representative Matthew Hiltzik released this short statement: “We are jointly confirming that “Up Late” will not continue on MSNBC.”

An MSNBC spokesperson adds, “This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best.”

Earlier this month, “Up Late” was pulled off the air for two weeks after Baldwin berated a photographer with anti-gay slurs. After news of the suspension broke, Baldwin said he was unsure the show would return, highlighting his unhappiness over a JFK special that never made air.

“Up Late” debuted October 11 with then-New York City mayoral candidate Bill de Blasio as its inaugural guest. Ratings declined throughout the five airings, with “Up Late” posting a demo low of 101,000 viewers in its final show on Nov 8.

The news was first reported by The New York Post.
