Alongi Takes Charge Of NBC Specials

Phil Alongi, a 27-year veteran of NBC News, will now oversee all of the network’s special events coverage as executive producer of Specials, Steve Capus announced yesterday.

Alongi ensures that the news division operates like a well-oiled machine for major events and breaking news.

For five years, he has served as executive director of the unit. He joined Specials as a producer in 1987, “and since then his responsibilities have included design, organization and production coverage of all major news events for network and cable operations,” NBC says…
