CNN Pipeline Announcement On Sunday?

Jon Klein and Jim Walton are scheduled to speak at the TCA Press Tour on Sunday afternoon. Do you think they’ll talk about CNN Pipeline? They’re expected to introduce Wolf Blitzer for a Situation Room sit-down, but don’t be surprised if they announce the name of the network’s new broadband channel.

“Expect an August or September launch,” a tipster said last week. “The Pipeline staff is almost full and has an impressive array of producers, copy editors, associate producers, and anchors.” The tipster didn’t pass up an opportunity to toot Pipeline’s horn: “This is an extremely ambitious project; TV’s best are literally launching a new network that’s completely Internet-based. Regardless of CNN’s struggles, the future of online news is brewing right now in Atlanta.”
