CNN’s Broadband Product: Giving Users Control “In Groundbreaking Ways”

As TV Week noted today, CNN isn’t ready to discuss its forthcoming subscription-based broadband service. But in response to this afternoon’s item describing skepticism about the new “premium product,” a CNN executive working on this project since its inception noted the following:

“This new product will allow CNN.com’s users to have control over their news consumption in groundbreaking ways. Moreover, this product has never been envisioned as ‘linear.’ What your tipster says is lacking is exactly what we’re offering — a new way to leverage the utility of the web to provide more relevant video in a more customized fashion.”
