Couric Prod. Nicolla Hewitt Leaving CBS

Post updated at 4:49pm to clarify her reasons for leaving.

Nicolla Hewitt followed Katie Couric to CBS last summer to become one of the anchor’s high-powered producers. This afternoon, executive producer Rome Hartman informed the staff that Hewitt is leaving “to pursue an exciting new venture.”

The memo states: “Recently, Nicolla was offered a position as President of the non-profit organization Seeds of Peace, and she feels that it’s simply too good an opportunity to refuse, as well as a chance to do very rewarding work helping others. As much as we hate to lose her, I know that you’ll join me in wishing Nicolla the very best in this new venture, as well as in thanking her for the many contributions she has made to CBS News.”
