Couric, Williams, Colbert: Promises, Promises

HuffPost’s Rachel Sklar brings us this clip from last night’s The Colbert Report. Steven Colbert asks Katie Couric and Brian Williams to sport a red plastic “WristStrong” bracelet during their evening newscasts (“Don’t let the severity of wrist injury go unrecognized,” colbertnation.com explains). Both anchors promised they’d wear the trinkets on-air, but they cruelly disappoint Colbert in the end.

Which reminds us: the much-hyped ‘trainwreck’ of an interview between Colbert and Sir Richard Branson airs tomorrow night. Colbert recently gave an on-air shout-out to the “blog-o-dome” (really, FishbowlNY) for helping the hype: “Look at this piece on mediabistro.com.”
