Covering the Fires: Record Number of iReports

Ireport_1025.jpgThe citizen journalists covering the California wildfires have set a record for CNN’s iReports. As of 2pmET Wednesday more than 2,000 video & photo iReports had come in. By way of comparison, CNN.com had received approximately 470 iReports in the first 24 hours of the Minnesota bridge collapse. Within a week, 619 i-Report entries had been submitted for bridge collapse story.

Since its launch a year ago, CNN tells us they have received more than 60,000 iReport submissions.
