Is Erica Hill the Next Diane Sawyer?
After the “Early Show” rearrangement in November, is CBS’ Erica Hill poised to be the next tvnewser elite? Maybe even the next Diane Sawyer? In today’s New York Post, the paper noted out that the CBS morning program hasn’t produced a big TV news star since Sawyer 30 years ago, when it was called the “CBS Morning News.”
Katie Couric told the Post that she saw Hill first on CNN with Anderson Cooper and she “liked that she was cheeky and seemed to have a sense of humor.”
As for Cooper, he told the Post that he didn’t know who Hill was until she was on CNN with him. Cooper said:
“…she started poking fun at me. And it took me a second to realize what she was doing. I would catch out of the corner of my eye — she was rolling her eyes at me. It became a nightly thing.”
Hill said about poking fun at Cooper, “You get a read on people, and I was just testing the water.”
