Evening News Ratings: ABC Declares Victory In The February Sweep

It’s official: “ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson won the February sweep among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. This marks ABC’s first across the board sweeps win since November 1996,” the network announced this afternoon.

ABC topped NBC by 111,000 total viewers and 129,000 demo viewers for the month. “Compared to last year’s February sweep, World News was the only evening newscast to grow its Total Viewing audience, increasing 8%; NBC dropped 3% and CBS’ Evening News declined 5%.”

For the February sweep:

Total viewers: ABC: 9,677,000 / NBC: 9,566,000 / CBS: 7,586,000

25-54 demo: ABC: 3,109,000 / NBC: 2,980,000 / CBS: 2,521,000

25-54 rating: ABC: 2.6 / NBC: 2.4 / CBS: 2.1
