Gizbert Suing ABC; Former Boss Says He Was A “Pretty Average” Reporter

Former ABC News correspondent Richard Gizbert claimed in a London tribunal today that he “was sacked for refusing to go to Iraq.” He is suing for unfair dismissal, but ABC says he was cut for budget reasons.

In court today, Gizbert’s former boss, London bureau chief Marcus Wilford, alleged that he was a “pretty average” reporter who wasn’t as good as he believed himself to be, the Guardian reports.

“I’d say he was a pretty average correspondent. He wasn’t as good as he thought he was,” said Mr Wilford. More… (regreq)
